BrikoX@lemmy.zip 1 year agoBosphorus and Dardanelles straits are too strategic for US, Turkey will always have huge baraining chip them so it would be very impratical for them to leave NATO and lose that leverage.

It would be, if we could trust Turkey to actually honor it’s alliance commitment, but it is equally likely at this time they’d just say ‘nope, we’re not participating in this war’ and bugger off.
