finitebanjo@lemmy.world 1 day agoNot really, it’s the party’s core platform. If they had 60 senators it would be done. If they had even 51 we would have at least seen minor progress but instead they have 45 now and not more than 48 in over 10 years.

I don’t think you can earnestly say that with the chicinery that kept Bernie from tying the nomination in favor of the heir apparent in Clinton (Bernie and AOC are pulling huge crowds in trump country). They again pulled that shit with having Biden run twice when he was obviously infirmed. He only stepped aside for the young after he did that disastrous debate. Lastly, the gamesmenship the democrats pull on their own members in congress?
The party establishment is focused on dying on the hill of placating to the rich. That is fundamentally against progress. Hence the diet fascism stance the dems take. We we have 2 rught-wing parties in America.

Bernie Sanders lost the 2016 primary by 3 Million 700 Thousand individual votes, which he was invited to participate in as a 3rd party by the DNC leadership. He lost the 2020 primary to Biden by a lot fuckin more, too.
