- Sovol3D SV06 ACE
- OrcaSlicer recently gained a built-in profile for exactly this model, and I’ve had all sorts of issues since switching to that profile (previously I started with a generic printer profile)
- the new profile is fine on PLA, but PETG is what I’m currently using
- yeah, I only just learnt about the print visualisation feature, the delamination does seem to frequent the same place on the object/plate
- it’s the 6x6 panel from www.printables.com/model/859807-print6-panels
- the spans from cross hole to cross hole are short and never delaminate
- the long straight edge-to-edge spans that dodge the holes have been troublesome
- the plan is to reduce acceleration a bit more, and then (if that doesn’t help) reduce speed a bit (I’ve already reduced speed and filament volume anyway because of PETG)

I’ve been seeing your posts on Masto, but I guess I’ll reply here.
I don’t know what printer you have, and I don’t know if the feature works for all printers, but could you try and use PrusaSlicer to visualise the print where the issue presents itself. More specifically, you could get some interesting data from the “actual print speed” view. That way you can see what speed the printhead reaches.
However, based on your description:
- when the printer reaches high print speeds you get delam
- slowing down the print head reduces (but doesn’t eliminate delam)
Could you be reaching the limit of what your printhead can melt? Would it make sense to calculate the actual flow through your nozzle at those high speeds? Finally, how much part cooling do you have setup? Have you tried a skirt to keep the temps more consistent?

okay, just viewing the job layer by layer, i can see that the first solid infill layer after the sparse infill is treated as an overhang/bridge and triggers 100% cooling fan (otherwise it’s at 0% for the rest of the print)
and i on some items, i can see where the delamination on this layer caused problems on the next couple of layers on top
but, on other items, there’s still delamination happening on the very top layer even without any issues beneath it

The very top layer would also have high cooling fan, no?
It could be your cooling fan is just waaaay too powerful, and causing the plastic to not flow and bond correctly to the lower (or following) layers.

According to the print visualisation, there is no cooling at all on the top layer, only on the 3rd-from-the-top layer, which is right above the last sparse infill layer (I have top shell thickness set to 3 layers)
