Why? All the evidence released so far indicate his family is conservative and he is as well, and he was radicalized by online anti-Trump conservative groups. It’s not clear which groups (could be further right Nazi-adjacent groups), but there’s zero indication that he somehow flipped liberal over the past few years.

You can be anti-fascist and conservative, you can also be fascist and claim to be anti-fascist if it’s not your brand of fascism (see tankies, and anti-Trump far right groups).

I’m not a fan of our Governor (I live in Utah), mostly because he’s spineless. He was very vocal about being pro-trans kids, but refused to veto an anti-trans bill because “it would get overturned” (also true). If he actually did what he claims to believe in, he’d be a pretty good governor, but he rarely takes a stand, probably because he wanted to win reelection. He’s pretty centrist for Utah, and Utah is pretty centrist for a red state (not crazy like Kansas, or Oklahoma). People here don’t like Trump much (he got fewer votes in the primary than Kasich, who had already dropped out of the race) but he still won by a landslide because of the R next to his name. Utahns are fairly reasonable policy wise, just very tribal.

My point with all of that is that I trust our Governor to give accurate facts and not sugarcoat things to appeal to Trump. Mike Lee might, but not Cox.
