There is no < 5c, so no. Technically the .99 should be illegal as it’s impossible, and they’re basically stealing 1c.

It is absolutely not illegal to charge 99 cents for something. It’s even possible to pay exactly 99 cents if you.use a digital method.

If you buy 3 x 99 cent items you steal 2 cents from the poor starving shopowners.
So make sure you stick it to the man by buying more! That’ll teach them!
You could just ask them to put through all 3 as separate transactions. Then stiff HF the card surcharges
