It's honestly pretty cool, so long as he chooses to federate!

The fediverse cancels him before he even officially launched tho 😄 He also violated AGPLv3 but I think no one cares.

Tbf, I don't think it's a GPL violation. GPL allows anyone to use and modify the software, and if you redistribute the software then you need to redistribute it with the source code. A website specifically like mastodon doesn't redistribute the source code, they run it on their servers.

Ok, so it looks like I'm right and I'm wrong. I'm right that the GPL doesn't protect that, and I'm wrong because mastodon is agpl not gpl
