If an open source “better” alternative to Reddit requires users to be behind a VPN to get basic privacy, the developers or community has lost the plot.

TBH, I haven’t really searched for any info regarding IP address.
I just assumed that everyone here on Lemmy lives behind layers of adblockers and has their VPN Kill Switch toggled ON.

Assuming people use a vpn is a bit of a stretch. I dont know anyone that does that constantly.
