Comment on Software engineering may have been one of the few modern engineering roles that combine both engineering (designing) tasks and technical craftsmanship (coding) tasks. Maybe until LLMs gets perfected.

Why not? Are you not creating the product with your own hands?
Yes, it is work. It is a skill. Craftsmanship is taking it a step too far.
Doesn’t it take some years of study and then some years of practice with seniors to master it, just like a craft, except it is words instead of physical matter?
