Zorque@lemmy.world 4 weeks agoIt would be nice if it were above politics. But what you’re attributing to nefarious deeds… is literally what politics is. Power players trying to leverage anything they can to accumulate as much influence as possible. Sometimes these come in the form of scheming plans, but more often than not it’s just manipulating any convenient happenstance that falls at their feet.

Have you seen the documentary Century of Self. It’s about the government and marketing starting to use psychology and how it manipulates society.
It makes me think about data mining, gps, and surveillance. Even credit card usage can give you ads on your phone. Devices listen. The possibility for manipulating society and basically becoming it’s master is there and is actually the game being played. Now look at it this way… When theres someone living off rhythm to society they can be targeted and manipulated pretty much from all avenues. This is what’s behind the gangstalking “conspiracy”… But to discredit the reality of that the stalking is real the “conspiracy” is littered with talk about aliens and directed energy weapons. So when people start realizing they are “gangstalked”, if they don’t have a strong enough head on their shoulders they believe it because while all the other attributes have happened to them and they know those events were real, they see all this purposely spread false info of aliens and bullshit specifically marketed to make them look crazy. For some people it works on them because they don’t understand the psychology behind social manipulation.
