I use bookmarks for that. All the browsers I use support them.
Comment on getoffpocket.com, my guide to Pocket alternatives, just got a redesign
some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 2 weeks agoThis isn’t analogous to RSS. I’ve been using RSS for more than twenty years. I’ve been using Pocket to save web pages for eleven years (migrated to Wallabag). RSS is great for catching new info. Read-it-later services are great for storing information.

You can certainly do that, but read-it-later apps offer offline reading and other features that many people enjoy. It could be worth a second look, but if you have something that works for you, that’s great

Bookmarks lead to dead sites. Read-it-later services store content. I went to send a link to a friend last week and the source was gone. Luckily, I had the content stored and was able to copy / paste the original info to my friend after the domain expired. A bookmark doesn’t get the old data.

Certainly RSS adjacent! Definitely different purposes, as you’ve described. Wallabag and FreshRSS are a nice combination.
