This comment i would used to jump on about how important it was to keep the internet free and anonymous…
But lately i’ve come to the conclusion that real freedom is a dream that humanity is not ready for. There are times when i even think, some people simply shouldn’t be allowed to access the internet :(

Is this Musk’s and meta end goal? Make internet ultra shitty so that every social network needs age verification/user real data so they can use their dominant position to target people more viciously?
It’s not like of 99% of people cares about giving their actual name and details.

TBH, age verification services exist.
If it becomes law, integrating them shouldn’t be more difficult than integrating a OIDC login. So everyone should be able to do it.
Other parts of regulation are more difficult. Like these “upload filters” that need to figure out if something shared via a service is violating any copyright before it is made available.
