Comment on Plex vulnerabilities being exploited in the wild to drop a cryptominer
@couldhavebeenyou If the Jellyfin app on their tv is not absolute shit, yes, BUT because you are connecting to a seedbox, VPN is optional. In the case of my ultra.cc account, it's in Amsterdam, so I don't even get the annoying emails that they send here, if they see you on a torrent.
My wife does her requests through Seerr, and they either show up automatically or sometimes I need to go poke them on the radarr/sonarr server. We use a laptop plugged into our TV and watch movies in a fullscreen browser window.
The best JF experience is with the builtin WebUI, but there are good apps out here for the phones, not sure about the TVs cause my perception is they are all awful. But ya, whatever app, you point it at your cloud account's jellyfin URL.
WebUI instances do very good at DLNA casting, and I have also found Kodi to be a pretty solid DLNA casting target, so up in the bedroom I have historically kept a Kodi box which either of us can control from our phones.
RIght now, I plugged in an older AppleTV box, and I'm planning to rip it out, cause the JF apps on it are a fucking nightmare. Apps are always a gamble now.
edit: my jellyfin server is on the open internet at https://revjtoad.dagger.usbx.me/jellyfin/, I don't care if people know, the only thing to steal in there is already stolen lol
So it's basically your personal netflix.

Ok so you don’t care that your rentes server gets hacked and used as a cryptominer
I get that, but you could have just said that as well
