There is a thing that people invented some time ago, it’s called lying. It allows for example for you to say something and then later pretend you didn’t say it. Wild stuff.

Are you suggesting people in the described scenario where they are directly and blatantly discriminated against shouldn’t act just because they can lie and said they didn’t? Because that’s awful advice.

No, I’m trying to set some expectations. The right thing to do is to probably lawyer up and try to go after the company. But it almost certainly wouldn’t do anything, and it will be long, expensive, and ultimately pointless endeavor, best case scenario the company that hates you now will be forced to employ you.

Zero downside to filing with the EEOC. www.eeoc.gov/eeoc-public-portal I view it like filing a police report even if you believe nothing will ultimately happen. Maybe they can establish patterns and go after them. Maybe it’ll at least tie them up. Maybe the person who did that will at least get reprimanded by their boss or at least think twice. You should never just roll over and accept abuse.
