Also all the debris burning up on reentry. With starlink they want to have 42k satellites, each designed to only last 5 years. So that’d be about 2 tons of aluminum added to the atmosphere every day.

I remember less than 2 decades ago we were worried NASA was putting enough crap up there to eventually cause this problem.
Now we’re doing magnitudes more daily and you don’t really hear about it any more

At least where these satellites go it’s not something that would be a real long term problem. They are low enough that the time for the orbits to clear would be measured in years, not decades or centuries.
