This movie uses faces as a theme but I’ve never quite made a comprehensive theory about it.

The criminals often have distinguishing facial characteristics. Mama has a big scar, her hacker has giant eyes, a lot of the gang members have scars or tattoos. But then theres Dredd who has no face. Much of the violence done is to faces as well, lots of scenes of people shot or smacked in the head.
