I think the DIY chiclet keyboards aren’t popular is because working with the scissor switches is a pain in the ass.

I recently read a post about something like this OS a few days ago for old Apple PowerBooks to get some use out of them as a minimalist writing device. I would t have any use for it but it’s a nice way to recycle an older laptop if you’re a writer.
