kids would absolutely fuck around and lock people in as a joke. sure, not all of them, and teaching them is important, but it is non-zero. codes/regulations exist because of dangerous but very unlikely issues
I see your argument, but I’ve never heard of anything like that happening, and locked-both-sides deadbolts are presumably legal in Australia since basically every house has them.
By whom tho? Someone wishing harm to the residents? If they’re already inside they could be more direct.
