roofuskit@lemmy.world 3 months agoThat’s how Microsoft designed it. The tablet and console versions are bedrock, the PC is Java. But others here have said there are modded server versions or plugins that let bedrock players play on Java servers.

No, PC isn’t Java only. PC is the only platform that can play Java, while literally everything else - PC included - can play Bedrock.
Bedrock has been the norm for longer than Java was now, sorry.
