I think servers in 1U config are called blades.

No blades are different they are small full computers that go into a large backplane chassis www.supermicro.com/sites/…/8U_SuperBlade.png
@yaroto98 @scottmeme Nah, a blade server is a weird format where servers are long rectangular "blades" that push into and can be pulled out of an enclosure in the rack which holds around 16 of them.
How I know: deployed a 500-node render farm at Tangent Animation.
