UniversalMonk@sh.itjust.works 2 weeks agoI understand how fucking edgy social justice warriors on Lemmy work. They think they are “struggling” to get by on $80K a year (for many, it’s the first job they’ve ever had), not realizing that most people don’t make that much.
Being that out of touch with the common American, is EXACTLY why the democrats lost the election. You guys have no fucking clue. Most people would kill to have a fucking job that paid $80K a year and allowed you to work from home.
You guys bitch about eating the rich. Guess what? YOU are the rich, when it comes to most of us.
I never made $80K a year in my life. Not even close to that much. And I’m retired with a paid-off house and no debt. lol

The people that get 80k aren’t the ones responsible for the fact that most make less than that. It’s the ones that own shit. You know, the rich. Antagonizing each other won’t help anyone have a better life, we can only get a better life for everyone if we recognise that.

But they are the ones that bitch about shit, push against things like third parties, prop up the democrat party which is NOT looking out for them, and they are also the ones that try to ban/remove people who don’t worship the duopoly.
They’re the ones bitching about people missing pronouns, or because someone doesn’t know every letter of the LGBT movement. They’re the ones that mock people for voting to reduce the price of eggs. Yeah, the voters who did that didn’t quite know what they were doing, but you all fucking made fun of them.
You all STILL make fun of them. All over Lemmy I see “Yo, are your eggs cheaper yet?” and “Wow, look at all the people shocked that leopards are eating their faces” and shit like that.

And yes, $80K a year is fucking rich. Most live on less. You are not fighting for those people. You are actually fighting against people richer than yourselves.
Now when I say “you” I mean generally Lemmy’s and Dems, not you specifically. Tho I can still tell you are well of and you make well more than the average person.

No. Instead of fighting against billionaires, fight for people making minimum wage. You’re not going to stop the billionaires. Ever. Understand? EVER.
