Israel was formed by Jews who saw the region as their historical homeland and who were fleeing persecution, pogroms, and the Holocaust in Europe, and persecution throughout the Middle East and North Africa.

Nope. Israel was formed by Zionists, and Zionism has been criticized by Jews since it’s inception.

Yeah and except on lemmygrad etc. we all agree that a genocide against Uyghurs is happening and it’s horrible. And from the indigenous communities globally, to Ukraine, Congo, Sudan, the Middle East, Xingjiang and Myanmar I wish freedom to all.

IMO they usually bring this up to deflect from their own genocides like in Gaza or in the Americas & the commonwealth.

  I mean, the war in Sudan precedes the genocide in Gaza by six months, and we didn’t get much coverage then. I think in fact, the movement in solidarity with Palestinians has opened up the space for people to want to know more about Sudan.
