It would be nice if the USA hadn’t been absolutely wrecking that place for the last four decades—if they hadn’t basically created the Taliban to fight the Soviets. Things should have been allowed to develop democratically without the authoritarian democrats/republicans paying overseas Nazis to kill anyone who even raised an eyebrow at the dictatorship in the USA.
