Modafinil (or one of its other variants) would likely be better and safer. It reduces your need for sleep significantly. Combined with some caffeine pills it would have a better effect for far less insanity.

It’s the difference between an ebike and a JATO rocket. Both will mostly do the same job. But one is a lot less spectacular, but likely a lot more useful.
