I feel like a lot of rank and file conspiracy theorists just want to feel smart and special. When they disagree with facts it’s because that makes them feel smarter than all the experts despite being wrong and much dumber. It’s a way to feel smart without putting in any work. A way to feel better about their wasted lives.
