This is partially why grid level solar farms by large operators are only cheaper on paper than roof installed decentralized solar panels and combine production with consumption. Yes the economies of scale make it cheaper to build, but everything after than, including the service fees to the home owners just adds up to them rarely being economically more beneficial to the society as a whole.
