Well, the day finally came. I had no choice but to do it today. That sounds harsh, but it was time. She was looking more and more uncomfortable and less like herself. I did everything I could have dreamed of with her and would not change anything… except for an entire lifetime with her, but that’s unrealistic. She had a lovely morning with my parents and I, got her some double chocolate chip cookies with Oreo, and ice cream. She passed peacefully in my mom’s and my arms. We took her home. We buried her in my parent’s backyard. We planted a beautiful redbud tree.
