The reason I was able to decide so easily to migrate to a part of the Fediverse where Japanese isn't understood is thanks to being blessed with a father who has a wealth of international relationships.

I myself can only speak Japanese, but since people of various nationalities were always visiting our home, an environment like the Fediverse felt familiar to me.
