If you run pipewire and pipewire-pulse (but no wireplumber), then start pavucontrol, change volume on a sink that doesn’t require wireplumber to be running (so, plugins and some network stuff?), close pavucontrol and only then start up wireplumber, you will hear the beep made by pavucontrol after its long gone.

THAT’S RIGHT! In pipewire land, the tree in an empty forest does make a sound!
