   I just uploaded another video, and it shows up on my timeline just fine with the unpatched version of snac.
   
   The issue on the peertube end was that I had not ran database migrations after a recent update, and that broke the HLS transcoding while the web-video transcoding still worked.
   
   Perhaps those others that experience the issue have the same problem on the peertube server that the problematic videos originate from.
