I use mxroute with my domain. So I'm not running the server, but I think there was some setup with spf/dmarc/dkim in the beginning. I haven't had any problems that I'm aware of and also have very little spam. I'm satisfied with it. I wouldn't mind having my own hardware to run a mail server on, but I've moved around too much for that to make sense. I do self-host a few other servers on a vps, but I feel like email needs to be more stable than them.
