you will never have this problem, dear reader :D you wouldn't do such dark things as to have this need. but if you do, tput init doesn't fix it, you need tput reset

@ireneista hmmm... I think I still have $(eval resize) show up in PROMPT_COMMAND where possible, wonder how that would play together

@ireneista this reminds me of learning how to make `PS1` do fun things. I assume most people use 'powerline` or similar these days and never have to think about it.
