   I just wonder if there's a maintained, curated list of #banks that do not requires #proprietarySoftware to access their services.
   According to https://discuss.privacyguides.net/t/banking-service-providers-that-do-not-require-an-app/26730 there is https://privsec.dev/posts/android/banking-applications-compatibility-with-grapheneos/ but "Banking Applications Compatibility with GrapheneOS" is not an answer, it is a workaround. Ideally we should just need a #browser

   @justine do it! as a dumbphone user, I'd love if more people just refused to use banking apps.

   @justine I have a Fairphone with /e/OS and my Starling app worked on it for some time before it suddenly decided to stop working. I have to verify payments using my old android phone that has no SIM.

   The app for my Halifax account continues to work however so I know it's not the OS that's the problem.

   @justine I'm afraid that this is still not a long term solution. Here in CZ, you're basically cut off of any bank if you really want to use it and not have any app.
   For example, they allow you to log in and use the web interface, but every 2FA verification (so every single login and payment processing) requires either an app or a paid SMS. I asked how to use their bank without an app and the counter question was if I don't have a smartphone (like every other, not insane person, doh)...

   @justine I have recently opened a new account (with the co-op) and avoided using my phone mostly with a similar thought in mind....
