taintedwhimsy / Tainted Whimsy - Nostalgia

Written July through September, 2023. Tried out some different sounds, from classical, to 90’s alternative inspired. Lots of lush synths. I can tell I’m growing as a composer in this album. Some of my best material so far is in this album. Also, previous songs had the benefit of being heard by some solid, schooled musicians and got a lot of good feedback. Now, these are mostly being made for myself, with a smaller audience. Although, one notable thing is that I had a wide audience (in person) for one of the songs in this album, which felt daring at the time. It still does. I also created three songs that I consider sisters in this album, though it wasn’t planned at the time, they evolved that way. The title refers to a feeling of nostalgia that several of the songs evoke to me.
