When I first landed on the #fediverse I was looking for a music community. And I found one. And shortly thereafter Radio Free Fedi sprang to the forefront. Through RFF I discovered so many great artists, including Futzle, whose song Weeping Melaleuca absolutely floored me. https://music.futzle.com/futzle-the-musical-weeping-melaleuca/
At the time I didn’t realize that Deb was also so very funny.
RFF had these great interstitial audio breaks, some of which I’ve collected in a list over on the #InternetArchive here: https://archive.org/details/@lime_bar/lists/1/radio-free-fedi
It turns out that some of my favorites, Texts With Void, were created by Futzle and I had no idea until much later!
When https://control.org and https://nham.co.uk started organizing #NHAMFest26 I decided I would give animation a try and asked permission from Deborah Pickett to animate these audio comedy gems. Radio Free Fedi is long gone, but the spirit of consent-driven music community lives on through https://theindiebeat.fm and now these animations, for their small part, as well!
I will be adding more videos to the playlist over time, there are 22 in total.
