big tech companies believed the scaling law narrative in '23-'24, committed to spend absurd amounts on datacenter capacity, and now that we know the scaling laws aren't real (we ran the experiment, it was a negative result, turns out you need more training data than exists in the world) they're spending all their resources on disinformation campaigns to stop people from realizing their trillion dollar investment is worthless
