Here's an animation of Kreutz sungrazer C/2026 A1 (MAPS) setting over the Orange Cliffs above Utah's Canyonlands National Park earlier today (at 5x speed) just 12 hours before perihelion while 0.07 au and 3 degrees from the Sun. The waviness in the tail is an artifact of atmospheric refraction. The nucleus no longer appears to be producing much in the way of new dust and might have already disintegrated by this point.
