Comet C/2025 R3 (PANSTARRS) will enter the field of SOHO's LASCO C3 coronagraph (https://soho.nascom.nasa.gov/data/realtime/c3/512/) in just a few hours, taking nearly the same track as C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS) in 2024 October but flipped north–south, and should produce a similarly shaped tail. However, the dust coma of C/2025 R3 has been ~3 mag fainter than that C/2023 A3 under similar observing geometry so far, so that tail will likely be far less prominent. Based on twilight observations on April 22.5, the dust coma appears to have reached a magnitude of ~3–4, and should brighten to ~2–3 upon entering LASCO C3 on April 23.5. The coma remains on track to peak at around magnitude 0 to –2 on April 25, depending (mostly) on the dust size distribution.
