How to fix electoral politics in Canada:

Abolish Provinces.
Abolish Partisanship - parties should just be research, administrative and comms organizations for aligned candidates.
Establish Watersheds as the geosocial unit of governance. Urban municipalities within watersheds must collaborate to govern the entire basin.

ELECT local representatives only, via something other than FPTP, and get rid of the idea that anyone is running for, or voting for, positions like “Mayor”, “Premiere” or “Prime Minister”.

Once the House of Commons or any lower-order legislative assembly is seated, they elect/appoint/hire/sacrifice amongst themselves who best represents the larger assembly as leader (PM, Premiere, Basin Manager, Mayor). And there are quarterly performance reviews.
