Just played with an #iPhoneDuo for awhile at #Apple store. Was actually a lot more exciting and nicer than I thought it would be. I was very hyped and thought maybe my expectations would crash and burn. But it was actually really enjoyable to use.
I do think the lack of FaceID is terrible. The demo units are not locked in store so you don’t get to really get a feel for how annoying it is. But using an iPad with TouchID is really trash.
Very annoyed the ship times are so far off. :oof:

speisekarte@troet.cafe 4 days ago @bryan On day 4 IRL I can say: One does not miss FaceID, because TouchID and Apple Watch do a very nice job. 🤓
queekusme@mastodon.scot 4 days ago @bryan I’ve got used to it, tbh once you have the muscle memory it feels just as quick as I subconsciously use it prior to needing unlock so it feels faster but that’s just me
Unabart@dobbs.town 4 days ago @bryan I don’t mind touch ID on my ipad mini and *really* wished my iphone had it in the early part of covid when face id didn’t work for masks. The lack of face ID has been the universal gripe about the duo and I expect apple will rectify this with the 2nd gen, which is what I’m gonna wait for anyway.
