essentially the baseline 'stable functionality' in the vast majority of templating languages, the set of functionality you can rely on to work consistently every time, is "variable interpolation and loops", and that's it

and honestly I just do not think that is an acceptable state for the templater space to be in, that's the sort of thing I would expect from a prototype
