Recommend me a decent compact digital camera that can replace my mediokre phone camera!
It should be as simple to use as the phone camera, and preferably not cost as much as my phone.

crodges@fosstodon.org 1 month ago @hund if you're comfortable buying used, take a look at Nikon Coolpix P330. It's compact, light, decent quality (12mp in a 1/1.7' sensor), and even take take raw pictures. It's a model from 2013, so it's cheap, I got one for around $230 (ebay). Love it.
bbbhltz@framapiaf.org 1 month ago @hund You'll need to flexible on cost if you buy new. I went the cheap route (a Kodak because it was the only cheap compact one at the store) and I'm fine with the choice even though the photos are very mediocre. For sub-€100 I wasn't expecting much.
If I wasn't a cheapskate, they also sold a Panasonic Lumix model for €550.
