You don't get to show up at the potluck empty-handed and then complain because you don't like the food.
You also expect not to be poisoned when you show up to the potluck. And I reserve an inalienable right to be pissed if I am. If someone wants to poison food in the privacy of their own home, well I find that strange but it's none of my business. But if they start serving that food to other people, some unwitting, then it becomes my and everybody else's business and if you don't like it too bad because that's just how physics works.
