I started a node on quxnet, as mentioned, and now there are 21 members! :):)

It's fairly simple: boards, status updates (short ones, once daily) ssh access, webpage hosting. A fun side-project.

Soon, thers will be a page of Ctrl-ZINE, started on Ctrl-c, and always “housed” on ^c, insofar as the server exists. The admin has been mostly MIA for over a year, so if/when the Digital Ocean droplet expires, I want people to have access to the zine w/o much interruption.

Also, a renewed interest in the zine has come about through email and ^nix since I started the node. So issue 26...soon.

For me, ^nix is the focus. The zine can always exist, and compiling an issue takes little effort (but a lot of joy!), and people love having their entries in an issue. So, it is worth continuing.

^nix means moderation and monitoring, which is also good

I always liked having a dedicated chat going of some kind in years past – late-90s/early-00's. AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) was a nightly “hub” for me seven days a week. 36 could be in a room, I'd work through the Friends list, some would depart after a bit. I'd invite a few more. Some would arrive on their own with a link shared by others (I think this was a feature I had enabled). A “doorman” of reckless, digital delinquency.

Now, older/wiser(?) (sure, yea, wiser), I find myself like that of a doorman (in a moderation sense) of a weird little throwback “nix” node. Albeit, just the chats and random occurrences make it fun – idgaf who is running the joint.

^nix will grow. I'll see it stays active (and safe), and some zine weirdness will happen in the meantime
