Now. In this moment. A blog entry. You, reading it. Thank you, and I appreciate it.

The sun sets soon. The hot water for coffee will be fetched when the first stars come out to adorn the adjacent darkness.

Dark matter. Me. The occult. A word I came to not identify with, but see myself as being a part OF from earliest memory. At 3, 4 years old, I didn't have a word for it.

The thin chance. The tiny occurrences and moments of life, and time – this is where I live.

Anton LaVey, founder of The Church of Satan, said that being an outsider, a nefarious contrarian, was likely the only way he would get a leg up in the world. The light, the commonplace, the norm – it didn't want him. So he went big The Other Way™.

I sympathize with this, but see myself as that of the occult, nonetheless. Not a Satanist. Not a theologist or pro/for spiritual (ritual) practices. Those are fine for those that find them fine. I practice an instinctual, carnal, impromptu form of biorythmic occult practice. Or presence.

Now, and always, I retreat to the dark. The dark that fills my mind and soul on the brightest of days. Darkness, and silence, are to be navigated. Enjoyed. Learned from. A source of power.
