$100 Billion Tariff Refund. How Much Did You Get? A cartoon: three men in business suits sitting around a dining room table, drinking cocktails. One of them is saying, "Can you believe those commoners who think they deserve a share of the tariff refund?" In the wake of the Supreme Court ruling that many tariffs were illegal, the administration has thus far refunded $100 BILLION to companies. How much did you get? Nothing? Prices went down? No. We saw nothing trickle down…. The corporations were undoubtedly too busy working the politicians for more tax breaks and sweetheart deals to be bothered with passing refunds on to consumers. We need to get big money out of politics. It’s not just ending Citizens United. We need to end financial lobbying and we need publicly-financed campaigns. We need the best, most representative candidates, not the best corporate tools that money can buy.
