So true. Everyone knows that the upvote / downvote model is just a popular opinion contest. It's not healthy for people to have their work subjected to, and important, relevant, and insightful points inevitably get buried in obscurity by a deluge of downvotes from people who don't have the requisite knowledge to even begin to reason about them.

It's also a little depressing to see the visits on my website hit the roof whenever I write about GNU/Linux or Eleventy, only to disappear when I write about life, music, or fragrance. I like reading and writing about techy stuff, but it would be amazing to see a little balance in fediverse and indieweb spaces.
