   @davidho So 💥 there is this (among other things):

   “Yet all the historical and comparative evidence we have suggests that the public, nonprofit and associative sectors deliver better results than classic capitalist logic in many areas, especially in education and health.”

   “France has never been richer. The problem to solve is simply one of distribution. The situation was far more difficult in 1945, when public debt was even higher than today and private fortunes were depleted. Yet that did not prevent the introduction of a national solidarity tax with rates of several dozen percent on the largest fortunes, which could yield much more today. “

   @davidho Minimal effects are inevitable, when maximizing #Capitalism #greed is too prolonged.

   Since government “debt” represents the money supply, and most of the money is captured by the 1%, there’s a good reason why debt so much larger than GDP now. It represents wealth consolidation.

   GDP all things considered roughly represents economic consolidation. It measures increasing energy intensity as well as scale.

   @davidho Fascinating analysis. “France has never been richer”. Public debt has risen from 20% of GDP in 1970 to 120% today. Meanwhile, private wealth has gone from 300% to 600% of GDP 🤯

   @davidho is it because #France sunk $40Bn that should have gone into school system into #LLM #ai bullshit?

   Is it, IS IT????

   @davidho His academic clarity is so measured and reasonable. It will be good to point to when they need explanation about why everyone is sharpening their pitchforks.

    @davidho
    They needed a reason other than "Nous sommes ados, et nous sommes Françaises! Aux barricades, les citoyans!"

    (I'm probable embarrassing myself with the Marseillaise now.)

    «Let us hope the current movement helps put these issues at the heart of the upcoming elections.»

    It will.
    Le Pen will win big.
