Moved from #nextcloud talk to #whatsapp as a family messenger. Nextcloud is a pain to maintain self-hosted and it lacks some features the major players have.. I tried #matrix and #xmpp, basically the same issues. Not sure if there are good self-hosted alternatives available.

Everyone will "lack some features" but xmpp with prosody+conversations is very low maintainance for me on Debian stable and the family is happy since 10y.
