I drew a drawing, read a book, thought some thoughts, started another job application. A quiet weekend of quiet activities.

The book was “The Merge” by Grace Walker. It was immensely readable, I finished it in a day. It read like YA fiction, not necessarily in a bad way. In a definite way though. The science was murky and the emotional impact not as strong as I'd hoped, but it explored some important topics, albeit in under baked form. Soft bread with some substance. An easy eat.

I haven't drawn much this year. It felt nice to create something. Mindless mindfulness of sorts. Documenting every day moments with the monochrome settings on my camera is another way I've been making images. Less about the end result and more about the process, of course.

Even if the results are bad it's the learning and creativity that counts. Doom art preferable to scrolling any day of the week.
