Oh hey, remember pre-COVID before the world turned on its head and we all felt more carefree like the future might be okay but then things tumbled into the present day and now the world in many places feels divided into loud bullish thugs versus the other ones?

I miss nuance. It feels endangered. Like a panda (both black and white, you know?).

We're not even moving in slow motion any more. This car crash will not pass go, and you're certainly not getting $200 for your troubles.

I've run out of analogies but you get the idea. I don't miss the past, it’s the past for a reason, but my dwindling enthusiasm for the window seat because I certainly did not ask to be a passenger in the first place is seeping into every facet of my life.

(It turns out there's always another analogy.)
